Now this is something that you don’t get to see on a day to basis. A huge python died after it had eaten a whole porcupine. The python was found by biker who riding his bike on the mountains and you can only imagine his shock when he saw that big python dead with a big belly. In case you are wondering where all this happen, well it happened in Africa and in particular South Africa.
It’s not yet known when the python died exactly, was it while in the process of eating the porcupine or sometime after it had eaten it. What is known as at now is the fact that the python, which was 3.9 meters long, had its innards punctured due to the porcupines quills which are usually very sharp.
According to those who saw the python after it had died, it had rather huge eyes than normal and many are suggesting that it might have died a very painful death in fact it might not have anticipated the porcupine to retaliate and pull such a move.
The python was found next to a cycle track that is located at a game reserve known as Lake Eland. It was at this point that the python was trying so hard to digest the porcupine, which turned out to be the python’s last meal. Poor thing.
While speaking at the scene of the incident, Jennifer Fuller, the game reserves general manager stated that, “At the moment we are not exactly sure if the python died before hand or whether the death was a result of the python falling before it was able to completely digest the porcupine.”
