Lisse is in Holland and home of the most famous and largest flower park called Keukenhof. If you plan to visit, spring it's one of the best times to visit because all the tulips and other flowers will be in full bloom.
Springtime is in April and May in Holland and they plant over 7 million flower bulbs each year. The garden is flooded with all kinds of blooms, such as tulips, orchids, roses, and carnations. You may wonder if they plant the same bulbs every year. The answer is no. The park is so popular that they follow a different theme each year to keep it interesting. The park is only open from mid-March to mid-May. They also have a flower parade in April.
You will see the 'Keukenhof' signs everywhere when you enter Lisse. Just follow the signs to the Nieuw-Vennep exit if you are driving by yourself. You can also take the public transport to reach 'Keukenhof'. There are special passes that allow you to visit Amsterdam, Rotterdam and also visit 'Keukenhof' as a combo deal. You can stay in Amsterdam, Haarlem, Leiden, or other cities and visit the blooms.
The park is open most days from 8 in the morning until 7:30 at night. However, the cash register closes at 6 p.m. so you may want to get there during the day to make the most of your visit and see the million blooms in spring!
