Malta is a small country in the Mediterranean Sea. It isn’t a very popular tourist destination, but it is an important destination for businessmen. The main business is construction. This is an island country. It is also an archipelago, but only 3, largest island are inhabited. The area is only 316 square kilometers. The capitol is Valletta, and this is the place you must visit if you are traveling to Malta.

Malta is a member of the Schengen Agreement. This means that citizens from countries that are members of this agreement doesn’t need a visa. Not all members of the European Union are members of the Schengen Agreement. Before you go, you should check with your embassy, in order to see, do you need a visa or don’t. If you live in a country that is a member of this agreement, you can stay up to 90 days without a visa. 

You can get to Malta with a plane. They also have their national air company, Air Malta. Also, you can get there by a boat, usually from Sicily. 
The official languages are Maltese and English. So, if your native language is English, or you speak it fluently, you won’t have problems in communication. The Maltese is the language similar to the Arabic, especially language spoken in the North Africa. 

The official currency is the euro. The prices aren’t very high. For example, a Maltese size pizza will cost you 6.5 euros. Major currencies are not accepted, so you must use the euro. You will also have to try Kinnie. This is a non-alcoholic drink that originated in Malta.
