What you should know before traveling to Poland

Poland is a large country in Central Europe. It is bordered with: the Czech Republic, Belarus, Russia, Lithuania, Germany, Ukraine and Slovakia. The size of Poland is 312,685km². It has 39.600.000 citizens. The country code is +48. The capital city is Warsaw. Although, it was ruined in the World War II, it was rebuilt so it looks the same as before it was ruined. 

Poland is a member of the Schengen Agreement. This means that you don’t need a visa if you are a citizen of a country that is a member of this agreement. You should know that there is no border control for citizens from the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and members of the European Union. Not all countries that are member of the European Union are members of the Schengen Agreement. 

The best way to come to Poland is by plane. The national carrier is LOT Polish Airlines. You can get by a train. There are direct connections from: Moscow, Vienna, Prague, Berlin and Budapest. You can also go to Poland by a car, bus or a boat.

The official language is Polish. It is a very different language than English. However, kids in Poland learn the English language from an early age, so all young people speak this language. You should avoid using the Russian language. On the other side, the German language is learned in many schools. Street signs and instructions are written in Polish language. 
The official currency is the Polish złoty. There are a lot of banks and private exchange offices where you can buy this currency. Also, there are lots of ATMs, so you won’t have problems in transactions.
