The Maldives are located in the Indian Ocean. It is a chain, of 1.000 islands. Only 200 are inhabited, so if you want to go on a desert island, now you know where to go! The Maldives are one of the best destinations for your holidays! They aren’t cheap! You can find hotels only in the capitol, outside are only resorts. The cheapest resort you can find, in the low season will cost you $75, per day per person. An average price of a double room is at least $100. In this price are included meals and drinks. If you want restaurants and local markets, you can find them on the Male (the main island). A meal usually cost $5. Luckily, your resort will take care of your transportation.

There are a lot of things you can do in the Maldives! The first thing you must do is to explore Male. The capitol is a very small city, but it offers some great places to visit. You should visit a mosque, Hukuru Miskiiy (also known as the Old Friday Mosque). It was built in 1656 and it is one of the most popular visitor hotspots. While you are here, you can visit: Sultan’s Park, National Art Gallery and the National Stadium.

Dive the Banana Reef is also a great marine area. It is well known for snorkeling and diving. It has a rich sea life as well. Here you can see barracuda, morays, groper, snapper, jackfish and many more. Some of the other things you should do are: ride the Whale Submarine, go fishing, visit Bathala Island, have a spa day, do watersports and many other!
